Neighborhood Spotlight: Why I Love Ashburn Village

A community built around the outdoors

Ashburn Village is one of the original planned communities in Ashburn, and it's aged wonderfully. The community opened in 1988 and has grown to more than 5,300 homes, with everything from single-family houses to townhomes, condos, and age-restricted options. That variety is part of the charm. You'll meet growing families and longtime residents who downsized without leaving the neighborhood they love.

What really sets Ashburn Village apart is how much of daily life happens outside. The community has 8 lakes and ponds where you can fish or paddle a canoe, 17+ miles of walking paths, plenty of playgrounds, and acres on acres of open space. On a summer evening, the paths around Ashburn Lake are full of joggers, strollers, and neighbors catching up. It feels like a small town tucked inside one of the fastest-growing counties in America.

Then there's the Ashburn Village Sports Pavilion, which residents get access to as part of living here. Indoor and outdoor pools, tennis, racquetball, a full gym, even steam rooms and saunas. Add three more recreation centers with pools, pickleball, and basketball courts spread through the neighborhood, and you start to understand why people who move here tend to stay.

Where you'll find me eating

Now for the fun part. A neighborhood is more than its amenities, and one of my favorite things about living and working in Ashburn is the food scene within a few minutes of the Village. These are my personal go-to spots, the places I actually take clients, friends, and family.

  • Thaitastic Thai Cuisine in Ashbrook Commons is my pick when I want something with real flavor. The curries are consistently excellent, and the staff remembers you after a visit or two. If you've had a long day of touring homes, their drunken noodles will fix it.

  • Blue Ridge Grill on Ashburn Shopping Plaza is my reliable classic. It's the kind of American grill where you can bring anyone: clients, kids, your in-laws. Great burgers, solid steaks, and a comfortable atmosphere that works equally well for a celebration dinner after closing day or a casual Friday night out.

  • Passion Fin over in Goose Creek Village is where I go for sushi and Asian fusion. The fish is always fresh, and it's my favorite spot in the area for a slightly nicer night out without driving into D.C. or Reston.

  • And for coffee, there's no contest. SR Coffee Co. on Junction Plaza is my favorite coffee spot in Ashburn, full stop. It's a local shop with genuinely great espresso and a welcoming vibe. If you ever want to talk real estate over a latte, this is probably where I'll suggest we meet.

Everyday convenience

Beyond the trails and the food, Ashburn Village is simply an easy place to live. The Ashburn Village Center puts groceries, dining, and everyday errands right inside the community. You're minutes from One Loudoun's shops and entertainment, close to the Silver Line Metro, and well positioned for commutes around Northern Virginia. Families are drawn to the local schools, and weekend options range from lakeside walks to breweries and farm markets a short drive west.

Come see it for yourself

I could list amenities all day, but the best way to understand Ashburn Village is to walk it. Stroll the lake paths, grab a coffee at SR Coffee, and watch how many people wave hello. If you're curious about the neighborhood, whether you're thinking about moving here or just want to explore, I'd love to show you around. Reach out anytime, and I'll happily share what I know about this special corner of Loudoun County.
